Advanced Flogging

It's an early evening, back in the club. Barma has sent Al on his own, to make friends, to try something new.

Dodo is a breath away.

Al knocks a heel against his legs, nods, and gives him such a grin.

[duke_of_illusions]

"Good."

In that case, he's going to whip Al's hair into a hasty tie.

[al_truism]

Having his hair pulled at is always a good thing. Al makes a small sound and twists, arching to make things easier.

[duke_of_illusions]

It gets hitched to his arms, forcing him to keep his head arched up and back. Perfect.

The next thin Gerard gets out is a nasal cannula.

Al knows what it is. He's seen enough people on oxygen for it to make him squirm, shivering at the implications.

He fits it to him, securing it on either side of his face with a little tape, then pops off to go pull out what looks like a small pump.

[al_truism]

Al silently and numbly wonders how he's not going to drown, but doesn't protest. The fear, good fear, is building up.

[duke_of_illusions]

"Now, when it comes in your nose, you can spit it out. Nothing is going to actually go into your lungs, thanks to your epiglottis, you're actually far more likely to asphyxiate- or rather, dry drown."

He fits the pump to the tube.

Al's breathing fast, through his mouth, fingertips trembling. He reminds himself that Gerard knows his safeword.

"I love doing this, but this is one of those 'goodnight Irene' tortures. We aren't going to be here long."

Giving his thigh an affectionate slap before turning on the pump.

[al_truism]

Al isn't ready for the feeling, despite bracing himself. He chokes, gags, and desperately tries to get his head forward, but is unable to. He spits out the water, trying to hold his breath until the feeling becomes unbearable. It happens frighteningly quick.

He panics and tries to get a breath, but just can't do it fast enough.

Instead he accidentally swallows water, begins to cough, and promptly loses the rest of his air. He's blinded by tears, sudden full panic.

He pulls the cannula out, just far enough that it's running down his face, gives him a couple of full breaths. A chance to safeword.

[al_truism]

He coughs, sputters up the water, and breathes in hard enough to feel dizzy. He blinks his eyes open -- defiant, of all things.

He doesn't safeword.

[duke_of_illusions]

"All right."

Switching it off, he releases the rope binding his hair, then the main stay quite suddenly, dropping him a few feet so he nearly hits the ground.

"We're inverting you. Breathe."

[al_truism]

Al yelps, but nods quickly, still coughing a bit. He takes a few deep breaths.

[duke_of_illusions]

Gerard makes a quick and dirty loop around one ankle, lifting it up slowly, then the other, so Al is hanging upside down.

"You won't swallow anything this way, it'll stay in your nasal passage and mouth. Panic, less risk- and no need to restrain your head. I can keep it up and then do this without working your neck."

[al_truism]

"Sir." He nods, still breathing, and spits out a little lingering water.

[duke_of_illusions]

He smiles, and crouches down, taking his ankles and lifting him completely upside down.

[al_truism]

He whimpers, shuts his eyes.

[duke_of_illusions]

He fixes the tube back in, tapes it down once more, and gives him a few long seconds to get scared.

[al_truism]

He makes a low, thin noise before he realizes he's making it, opens his eyes to watch for the moment he turns the water on.

[duke_of_illusions]

Click. There it is, up the tube, into his nose.

This is going to hurt.

[al_truism]

He'd scream if he had the breath. This time he thrashes.

[duke_of_illusions]

He keeps it up for seven seconds, this time, then turns it off, tipping it so it drains out of the tube quickly. Leaving Al to hang there and choke on air.

[al_truism]

Al coughs and wheezes, gagging on nothing, and tries to breathe again. He's trembling, eyes shut tight.

It felt like eternity.
