The masquerade ball has taken over the second floor of the hotel. People move about, beautiful and glittering and masked.

Barma watches Al quietly, from afar.

Around the first corner, Barma pulls Al in and into a deep kiss, gathering him up. They nearly stumble.

"Mmmnph-" gasping, but he fumbles and then throws his arms around his shoulders, pressing eagerly against him.

"Want you-"

Pulling his mask up and off, still walking him in deeper.

Hurried and sudden and needy isn't usually how it goes, but Al obliges by reaching up to loosen his cravat with his fingers, nearly ripping it before he fastens his teeth against his neck, biting sharply.

"Is there a place?"

"Deeper."

He smiles, untangling himself for a moment to lead him on.

Al keeps up, keeping watch as they move through corridors.

"Do you have this memorized?"

It wouldn't surprise him.

"Partially."

He admits, nodding.

"It isn't far."

Someone comes around the corner and Al quickly backs into the shadows, pulling Rufus with him.

Reflex more than anything.

He smiles, and wraps an arm around Al protectively, holding him against himself in the darkness.

"Scared of being caught?"

He whispers.

"Your reputation," he reminds him, sputtering softly.

"Someone could follow."

"Dodo will hide us."

He promises.

"If we remain quiet, no one will ever know we're here."

"Dodo?" he asks. Another name that's familiar, from that book. Though Break wasn't interested, he's suddenly wondering in Rufus would want to read it.

Slowly, he nods, the smile growing. "I'll try to be quiet."

"My chain, the maker of my illusions."

Explaining.

Al slides his hand over his chest, over the seal.

"That's something I want to ask you about, later."

"Later."

Stealing his hand and dragging him deeper. They're nearing the middle now.

Is it stolen if it's willingly given? Al lets his mind run rampant with ideas, which are interrupted as he mentally marks the turns.

By the time they get there he's just burning to touch him.

Barma trips him up against the stone table in the centre of the clearing, pressing him there with both hands on his hips.

"Got you."

It's awfully exposed, even this deep in the maze. Anyone could just wander in and hear...

"Got me," he whispers breathlessly, pressing his hips against him. It reminds him a bit of the kitchen.

He gives him a quick smile, to remind him that he's safe, then bends him backwards over the stone, pressing down on top of him.

"You look like a virgin sacrifice."

Al shivers at the thought, smiling back and pressing, rubbing against him.

"... not virginal enough."

"It could be an honest mistake on my part."

He teases.

"You'd have to prove your- non-virginity to me, I suppose."

"In order to live, I would," Al whispers back, cheeks flushing dark.

"But I'd enjoy it."

"Show me."

He urges, kissing his throat.

"Let me use my mouth, sir," he whispers, though he can't help but tilt his head back and shiver, encouraging more on that sensitive skin.

"You'll know right away."

"Very well."

He agrees, stroking his hair.

"I do like you, I'll give you a chance."
